At May Park Primary School safeguarding children is a core part of our provision. All staff and volunteers are trained in safeguarding and safety procedures. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Tracey Kildea. Mrs Kildea is a part of the Senior Leadership Team and leads our school both strategically and operationally in ensuring that our safeguarding response is effective.
We expect all staff, volunteers, parents, carers and the wider school community to share our commitment to keeping our children safe. All visitors to our school are reminded of their safeguarding responsibility and any who do not have recognised, currently valid Enhanced DBS clearance will be accompanied by a member of staff at all times.
Our page below has information on our ‘Safeguarding Team’, ‘Reporting Concerns’ and ‘Antibullying’. For information on how to stay safe online please visit our ‘Online Safety‘ page. Here is the link to our MPP Safegarding and Child Protection Policy.

Reporting Concerns – Safeguarding is Everyone’s Responsibility!
If you have any safeguarding concerns regarding a child you can contact members of the school safeguarding team (see below) via the main school office, Class Dojo or email.
You can also contact the NSPCC Helpline whenever you are worried about a child by calling 0808 800 500, emailing [email protected], texting 88858 or contacting online at nspcc.org.uk/helpline. The service is free, available 24/7 and calls can be made anonymously. This service can also be used for general advice and guidance.

First Response
If you need support with parenting or you think that your child needs some help from children’s services in Bristol, you can phone First Response.
Your phone call may result in:
• Information, advice and guidance being given about services to help families.
• A referral to the Early Help team who can provide support to children, young people and families.
• A safeguarding referral to a social work team.
Depending what the problem is, we can find the right solution by talking to the right people who know your child; people like teachers, youth workers, police, school nurses, health visitors, doctors, etc.
Anyone can ring First Response if they are concerned about a child or young person.
