Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

May Park Primary School is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning opportunities for all  pupils.

The SEND Team has experience in supporting children and their families, who may face barriers to their   learning through difficulties in:

  •  Cognition and Learning
  •  Communication and Interaction
  •  Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  •  Sensory and/or Physical Needs

May Park has a team of Learning and Pastoral Support Assistants who provide in class, small group and individual support to pupils based around their individual needs; building on skills and promoting independence.

The SEND Department has excellent links with external agencies to support pupils at May Park Primary. We liaise closely with local services providing Educational Psychology, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language teams and Health professionals.

SEND-Middle

May Park Primary commission Child Psychotherapy service The Bridge Foundation to work with families and parents. We also have two LSAs trained as ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants) who receive regular supervision from the Educational Psychologists at Bristol City Council.
