Volunteering

Volunteers at May Park Primary school

We deeply value the contribution our volunteers make to our school community. Volunteers bring diverse skills, experiences and perspectives that enrich our pupils’ learning and support our staff in creating the best possible environment for every child.

Whether you’re a parent, carer, community member or local professional, there are many ways you can get involved – from supporting in classrooms and hearing readers, to helping with school events, trips, or sharing your expertise.

We have a trust-wide Excalibur Volunteer Procedure which can be accessed here:

Volunteer Procedure Sept 2025

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility, and this includes all our volunteers. Good safeguarding requires a continuing commitment from everyone to ensure the safety and welfare of children is embedded in all our processes and procedures

We follow the statutory guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education to ensure that all volunteers understand their safeguarding responsibilities and that appropriate checks and procedures are in place. The current version of this guidance can be accessed here:

Interested in volunteering?

We’d love to hear from you! Please register your interest by contacting [email protected]. Once we receive your enquiry, we’ll share our internal volunteer documents with you, which outline our safeguarding requirements and the steps to get started. There is also a short annual training video for you to watch prior to you starting the role. This can be shared as a link with you directly.

We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
